I was put on BC pills when I was 18 (many many yrs ago LOL) because I was super irregular--like going 6 months without a period. Well, after having kids and being off BC in between they were also irregular (although only a few months in between, if that). I'm back on BC--so I've been getting it every month....however even 4 months after starting BC---I get my regular period and then the whole next week I'm still crampy and have nasty brown discharge.
I called my doc and he said my body must still be adjusting. I'm just worried if I go to Mirena (without all the hormones the BC pill has) that my period will be all over the place. It would be so stressful to never know when you will get it.
If you were irregular before Mirena--how has it been???

Re: Another question about Mirena--- (if you've had irregular periods before)
isn't the not knowing stressful though??? That's what I hated the most pre-BC pill. that's what I'm afraid of dealing with again.

I had a bad experience with Mirena. I hated it. I was crampy for all 5 months I had it in, sex was painful and headache after headache. I dont think I was the norm, but I will never try it again.
wow--- that's something. I wonder if it was the mirena or your body or what.
Congrats on the baby! I saw your siggy that she has Downs. My DS1 is in a special education class for some developmental delays (speech mainly but some OT stuff too)---and there are two boys in there with DS. They are the most beautiful, loving fun boys ever! Truly gifts from God.
