N/T Scan and Gender Guess?!

So exciting! Our measurements looked great but of couse, we are still waiting on the bloodwork to come back. We got a really great view of the both babies and they definitely looked completely different when it came to the sexes. Has anyone else had boy/girl twins that were really obvious at 13 weeks? Comparing them next to each other, it was pretty clear to everyone in the room but I hate to get my hopes up since it is still so early.

Hmmm, we were told during our NT scan that bloodwork wasn't necessary for twins since the levels they test for are out of whack. Got great numbers for the NT (1.0mm and 1.5mm) but they said bloodwork was pointless.

As for the sexes of the babies, we feel they're girls, but no one has given us a guess yet during the ultrasounds.

Thanks, I wonder why we did blood test then? At least the numbers looked great and now they are actually measuring the same and have been 2 days apart at every u/s and had the same heart rate. Congrats on your great numbers!

Our doctor said she would love to look but we couldn't hold her to it!

We did have the blood work and it came back normal. Also, yes our "guess" from angle of the dangle at 12w1d was correct for both babies.

Ha, that's a great way to put it! It was a completely different angle and shape. That makes me feel a little better about the blood work also. And Congrats!

We had blood work done with our twins. We were told that they take the blood and just report the numbers in different ways depending on if they are mo/mo, mono/di or di/di. If they are mo/mo or mono/di then they take the numbers and simply divide the total by two to get an average. If they are di/di then they will keep the numbers completely separate. Awesome that you got a guess at the gender!

Our tech told us it would be a complete guess so she didn't want to make one.

Oh, that makes sense about the bloodwork. We weren't expecting her to even bring it up but when she did, I couldn't turn down looking!

on my phone so i cant use caps... our nt guess was completely wrong. we were told two girls and we have two boys. we did have bloodwork done but were told it wasnt as accurate with multiples.

Our MD told us that we were having boy/girl twins at 12 weeks via US, and it has been confirmed 3x since then.

My OB guessed b/g when I was 13w and she was right.

My MFM guessed boy/girl at our NT scan.... it was 13 weeks and a couple days. He was right. As for bloodwork, we skipped it.

I chose not to have an NT scan but had an emergency u/s at 13 weeks due to some spotting. The tech guessed Baby A to be a boy, but she said the parts look really similar at 13 weeks. And she was wrong - 2 girls!

We were told b/g at my NT scan and it was correct. A was pretty clearly a boy, and B looked different. I think a mixed set makes it easier for the tech to guess than if the twins are the same gender.

we were at the high risk OB for our n/t scan and she said that she thought B was a boy, but it was so early she wouldn't count on it... and she was right! We have b/g twins

Thanks everyone, maybe there really are one of each! I just pray for 2 healthy babies though no matter what the sex!
