Should I call the doc?

Today I worked out for an hour (weights) and then went to the grocery store (pushed a heavy cart w/Luke in it for ~45mins).  While I was standing in line to pay I started getting serious, semi sharp pains that went from under my belly (on the left side) down along my bikini line.  Before I could get our stuff into the car my back started hurting a tiny bit.  On the drive home I felt better but the belly/bikini pain was still there.

We gpt home and I scrambled to get the cold stuff put away and lunch for Luke.  I was still hurting (not so much the back anymore), but not anything I couldn't walk through.  Oh and I had BH off and on (not regularly) this whole time.  Maybe 3-4 in an hour.  After lunch I laid down on the couch while Luke played and felt better.  I had to get up to change his diaper and immediately had a BH.  Once he was down for his nap I took a shower (ew, I know) and had two BH within 10 minutes.  They didn't last long but they came closer together than I would've liked.

So do I call my doc?  Just rest on the couch this afternoon?  Normally I wouldn't sweat it too much but DH is (of course) OOT tonight.  I rarely felt BH with Luke, so this is a whole new ballgame for me.

Re: Should I call the doc?

  • I don't think I ever had BH that went down to my bikini line.  I never think it's a bad idea to call the doc and just chill on the couch if you're not feeling 100%.

  • Call the doc just to be on the safe side. Can't have too much of safe side, right?

Towards the end of my preg w/ DD I'd get pains similar to that and the  nurse would tell me to drink lots of water and stay off my feet (rest). Being that you had workedout and done a lot of walking at the store, could you be dehydrated? If you need ANYTHING I'm down the street. If need be I can leave DD in daycare until 5:30 and she goes to bed at 6:30. Call anytime! and good luck!

  • Sounds like you overdid it, momma. Wasn't this about the point last time your doc told you to CTFO and quit working out?

When I had what you're describing, I would just make sure to take it suuuper easy the rest of the evening, lay on the couch, and drink water. If you need help with L tonight, lemme know.

    Dear Bump: You suck.
  • Thanks for the input y'all.  I decided to call, just to be safe, and the nurse said that I over did it.  She said to rest as much as I can and call if it doesn't get better.  Thankfully Luke should be down for a little while longer and he's a BIG fan of the Christmas shows that have been airing lately.  Looks like it's a night of pizza and lots of TV.

Rssn & Aggie--thanks for the offers!  I'll give ya a buzz if it gets to be too much tonight.   DH is only in San Antonio, so if I really need him he can hit 35 and be here pretty quickly.

  • I was going to say to call to make sure.  I hope you feel better soon and I'm also available if you need help tonight.
