Poop question

So LO used to dirty his diaper every timeshe peed then it slowed down to 3-4 x per day then down to 2 per day but then all of a suddenit stopped. He hasn't had a bm in over 48 hours. He's seems fine w the exception of his normal gas but not uncomfortable. I know Bms are less frequent with EBF babies but the recent decrease was kind of sudden. Is this normal? How often does your LO go and when did it decrease in frequency? TIA!

    Breast fed babies can go up to a week. My LO usually goes about once per day, but she will go through periods where it is more every 3-4 days.

    Prepare yourself for a giant poop. I actually prefer when she goes more frequently.

    Yep, DS was a once a week pooper and even went up to 12 days once.  Huge poop-splosions though!  :)

    Haha.  BF babies (and probably FF babies, but I don't know?) poo the same amount - just how often is what is different.  So if your LO waits a few days, be prepared b/c it's going to be as much as he would have gone over those days.  We've had several poonamis at our house!

    Normal. Mine had a similar pattern. If LO skips a day or two when he does go there is copious amounts and it tends to be a bit thicker.

    My DD did that last week.  She had just a smidge one day, nothing the next and a smidge the third.  I called ped and they suggested 1 oz of prune juice (I didn't want to do karo).  I gave her 1/2 oz and the next morning she had a super duper blowout.  She pooped all day and has been normal ever since.  The dr said that she could've gone 3-4 days and be normal but since she's a preemie and had weight gain issues she in particular shouldn't go more than 2 days w/out me calling them.  But you are right, BM babies slow down.  She was pooping with every feeding.  Now it's about once a day.
