I went to the doctor this morning to get checked because of some cramping and pain the past few days, and after getting cleared for infections and pre-term labor, they checked my little ones' heartbeats and it was wonderful!
Which ever one was in front had a really loud, clear heartbeat, and the back one was like a little echo
. I'm so glad we're all ok, and healthy!
Re: I finally heard little heartbeats
1st IVF: 1/2011: BFN
2nd IVF: 6/2011: BFP, 1st Beta: 64, 2nd Beta: 56 (C/P)
3rd IVF: 11/2011: BFP; 1st Beta: 166, 2nd Beta: 338 U/S: 12/13/11--two heartbeats!
1/3/2012: Goodbye Baby B, 9w2d--you're always our little angel!
I have an appointment on Friday and am hoping to hear the heartbeats! So, this may be a dumb question, but how did they know that they were hearing different heartbeats???
In my case, my babies' heart rates were always different and my OB found them on different areas of my belly (Baby A was lower left, Baby B was upper right). If she hadn't been able to differentiate between the heartbeats we would have gone down the hall for a quick u/s.

Thank you for the clarification. I am more worried this time around than I was with my first. My doctor's office told me that I won't have another u/s until the 20 week one which worries me a bit because it is soooo far away (or so it seems). I see a different doctor (same practice) tomorrow and am going to ask about the possibility of an u/s before the 20 week one just so my mind can be at ease. I haven't had any cramping, bleeding, or other issues, but it's still worrisome.
With me, you could clearly tell that they were beating at different rates and at different times. The first beat and the "echo" didn't match at all.
