Anyone there found a good solution to freezing home-made baby food? I have tried regular ice cube trays and some of those individual containers for baby food but I am not in love with any of them. Food is too hard to get out, tops pop off, etc. I'm looking for a better, not too expensive solution. Has anyone tried silicone ice cube trays, like the ones from Tovolo? I don't have a lot of room in my freezer, so I'm looking for something not too large and that makes the food easy to get out, preferably one cube at a time...
Re: freezing baby food?
I grabbed a bunch of silicone ice cube trays from Ikea last time I was there. Dump the food in the tray, wait a few hours for it to freeze, pop them out and store them in a ziploc.
Keeping the food in the trays would have been too confusing. Peas and green beans look the same, apples and pears look the same, squash and sweet potatoes look the same... there's no way. I needed labeled freezer bags so I could keep it all straight.

I have one of these OXO trays with a lid ($5) and pop out the cubes to store in freezer bags. After pureeing my food, I dump it into a gallon ziplock bag, snip the corner and pipe it into the cube trays. I leave the rest in the gallon bag until that tray is frozen, then I repeat until all the puree is gone. The bottom of these trays is rounded, so the cubes pop out more easily than the normal rectangle ones. I just twist the tray and pour them all into the freezer bag at once.
FYI - The "lid" on this tray isn't air tight and probably shouldn't be used for storage; it just makes it easier to stack.

I use these trays, and absolutely love them! Not the cheapest option out there, but they fit well in the freezer, you can get the food out pretty easily, and they hold a ton of food at once. I still pop them out into ziploc bags when I'm ready to make more food and need the space. Highly recommended though....

I use these. They are silicone and super easy to pop out. They are about 2oz cubes. I got 2 of them, which is plenty. I pop them out when they are frozen and put in labeled ziplocks.
I use the tovolo trays and they are awesome. Really easy to pop the cubes out of the tray after freezing. I learned about them from this mom's blog: https://tinyurl.com/3q8cdgb
