I'm starting to pump and freeze for when I go back to work and am wondering, when you are pumping, do you end up freezing what you've pumped in that session all together or do you portion it into smaller amounts? I can pump around 6 oz, but have been splitting it into 2 freezer bags because at this point, she won't eat 6 oz at a sitting and I can't stand the thought of throwing it away! TIA

Re: Pumping/stash
I freeze 2-4 oz at a time. I think I have a few 5oz bags in there, but not many. It's much faster to thaw a smaller portion of breastmilk and a lot of times when I'm thawing milk, I only need a few ounces anyways, so having to thaw 6 would be a total waste.
It also protects the integrity of the bag if you freeze in smaller amounts.
