Cluster feeding at night and spacing feedings at 3.5m

DS has been eating 7 times a day (including 1 night feeding) for about 1.5 months now. This also includes cluster feeding (every two hours) in the evening. During the day, he eats every 2.5-3 hours. He pretty well eats at around the same times every day, something he fell into himself.

I'm just wondering if babies at this age still generally cluster feed in the evening to get them through the night?

Also, when did you notice that your LO's feedings started to space out more? I guess that means that at some point he will drop another feeding?

Re: Cluster feeding at night and spacing feedings at 3.5m

  • DS was around 12 mo. and we're still basically on that schedule with DD at 9 mo.  When she was under 4 mo. she had her longest stretches of sleep at night, but now she'll only do about 4-5 hours and then every 2-3.  Every baby is different though and I know as many babies that keep sleeping well as I do babies that are on DD's same schedule (I'm glad I know these moms, otherwise I'd feel sorry for myself).
