Northwest side day care/nanny?
Hi All! I am expecting my first baby in July 2012 and I know that I'll be needing day care beginning in September or October 2012. I'm open to options including home based day care, nanny/nanny share in my home/yours or good affordable day cares? I live in the Sauganash neighborhood and work in Lincolnwood so I'd love to stay in the Edgebrook, Forest glen, Peterson Park, or Lincolnwood areas. Also, i need full time care. Ideas... suggestions...?
It seems as if i'm ahead of the timeline to be asking about this, but a lot of day cares have wait lists.. so I"m trying to keep myself covered! Thanks for any input!

we couldn't afford a nanny and weren't keen on leaving her with an in-home sitter w/out knowing the person personally so we ended with a daycare/preschool center. we live in the city and work in the burbs, but different burbs. we decided we'd rather have baby closer to us at work than at home in case we had to get to her quickly.
once we took all of that into account, i looked on google maps for childcare, daycare, etc on my way to work and on DH's way to work and that's how we found our center (which is on my way to work).
it's cheaper for her to be in the burbs than in the city and there wasn't a wait list, though i did get her registered before she was born.
long story short, check out google maps if you can't find any person rec's. GL!
