I was having bright pink wrappers but wanted to keep it classy... I
looked into getting one of those tiered stands but they are too
expensive.
In your opinion to display cupcakes would you go for (ignore the prices I found places to get both items much cheaper):
1) 3 white ceramic stands- https://www.sweetdesiresparties.com.au/white-round-ceramic-flat-cake-stand.html
2) 2-3 glass cake stands (similar to this minus the cover)- https://www.amazon.com/Anchor-Hocking-Canton-Cake-Dome/dp/B0009RLM1A/ref=sr_1_54?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1323193070&sr=1-54
Or any other advice... help!
Re: I wanted to do a cupcake display for a baby shower and needed advice
I'm in on the planning for my shower and I stumbled across this site that sells cardboard cupcake towers that can easily be put together and decorated. I think they are reasonably priced as well.

Ditto the cardboard stands. I've seen them at Michael's and JoAnn's and possibly even WalMart. You can also get them online for $6 - https://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=cardboard+cupcake+stand&hl=en&prmd=imvns&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&biw=1366&bih=667&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=1834930484164412224&sa=X&ei=Lf_xTojALoqFgwem2eScAg&ved=0CIoBEPMCMAA
I helped host a very fancy bridal shower for a friend, and we did a cupcake display and used the cardboard stands. All we did was glue pretty ribbon in the shower colors around the outside of each level of the stand so that you couldn't tell it was cardboard. Then we set them on fabric that was loosely piled on the table, and that way you couldn't see the bottom of the stands. It looked very pretty and classy.
