Pelvic bone PAIN!

I didn't have this pain with DD#1.  In fact, I was totally comfortable up until delivery with her.  Over the past few weeks, I have had more and more pain on top of my pelvis.  I'm assuming this is totally normal, but it is awful!

Have you ladies found anything that helps relieve the pain?  I don't think stretches will help because it's not a muscular pain.  Any advice would be appreciated.  TIA!

Re: Pelvic bone PAIN!

  • I have had a lot of pelvic pain. It is really awful.  try doing pelvic tilts and sitting/leaning so the baby's weight is off your pelvis.  i read somwhere to sit/stand "like your belly is a hammock for the baby".  I also got one of those maternity support belts that is supposed to help stabilize the area as it loosens in preparation for delivery.

  • I totally understand!  I haven't found a solution yet, but, like PP said, my midwife suggested a maternity belt.  I haven't bought one yet, but I think I'm going to try it!

  • I have had this too my pubic bone is sensitive to the touch. My doctor also suggested a maternity support band.
  • Yep, me too.  Pelvic tilts and hip stretches help a little.  I've been looking at the maternity support belts but haven't bought one yet.  They kind of look like a PITA to me, but maybe it would be worth a try.

  • Prenatal yoga.  I haven't ever posted before and never responded to anyone, but I could not let this one go.  Prenatal yoga.  You can find videos at the library or drop in a class.  It is worth it!
