baby jogger strollers? mini or micro?

I have a Sit N Stand for when I'll have DS with me but I'd like to get a stroller for when it's just the baby and me. It's an $80 difference between the micro and the mini and I don't see much difference except for wheel size. Anyone have experience with either?

Re: baby jogger strollers? mini or micro?

  • we have the city mini and the times I have used it- I have really liked it. However, I might not be the best one to make a recommendation because DD started hating the stroller around 10 months and it has only been used a handful of times. The bigger wheels made it easy to maneuver compared to the cheap umbrella or the snap and go.

  • The Micro doesn't recline so it wouldn't be good for a small baby.  And the sunshade is not nearly as large.

If you think you'll use it frequently, spend the $ on the Mini.

ETA - the Micro also doesn't take a car seat

  • I know absolutely nothing about the Micro, but we've had the Mini for almost 3 years now and we love it. When Warner was an infant we had the carseat adapter bar and that worked great. I guess we started using it without the carseat adapter around 4-5 months and still use it frequently. It's been a fantastic stroller and really the only one we've needed.

If you're worried about the price, definitely try to find one on Craigslist. There are some moms on here who have found great bargains on strollers (and everything else) there.

I would be one of those! I have bought a total of 4 strollers off Craiglist (3 Maclarens and 1 Joovy). Typically I'm able to get them for 50-65% of the retail cost depending on the condition. All of them have worked great.

  • I love our mini, but if that's one you're looking at I also really like the new Britax B-Agile.  The basket is bigger and easier to access and you can clip a Britax car seat into the stroller without an attachment.  (The car seat attachment for the City Mini --which we love and used exclusively for at least the first 5 months--- is an additional $60.)  The one thing I would test is whether the smaller front wheel on the B-Agile makes a different in maneuvering.   I really like how large the wheels are on the City Mini.
  • I love my Mini. For me it's the one-handed fold that makes it awesome.
