Barely showing or proud bump?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this board, I am 14 weeks right now.  So far I am barely showing a baby bump.  I think it is due in part to this being my first pregnancy, but it may also be because my uterus is tilted towards my spine.  My pants are starting to get pretty tight but the bump isn't really noticeable yet.   I'm not complaining but my family is all excited about seeing my tummy on Christmas...they are going to be a little disappointed! How is your bump? Barely there or loud and proud?

  • I lost about 15 pounds jsut before I got pregnant so I'm just back to looking how I did before that (even though I'm down another 15). So no bump really...just my spare tire back.

  • Loud and proud! I want my belly to be the first thing that people see when they see me, so I make sure to wear shirts that accentuate my belly rather than shirts that hide it. :)

  • Not showing AT ALL...This is my third pregnancy, but I am overweight to start with and at this point, I have lost about 8-10 pounds...My pants aren't comfy, though.  I started wearing my maternity pants a couple weeks ago...They feel great, but fall down!
  • Same as you! I also have a retroverted uterus and my pants won't button properly, but I definitely only have a bloat - I can still suck my stomach in and have it look just like before. I'm hoping that the bump comes soon, because right now I'm just feeling huge!

  • With DD I didn't have a "legit" bump until 20ish weeks. It will come soon enough for you to enjoy and "show off"

  • I don't really have a bump either...I'm 13w5d. My pants are a little bit tight, but it's not noticeable to anyone else. My friends and family keep saying things about seeing my belly at Christmas, too, but I keep telling them it's not very interesting right now! So I'm with you...wanting a bump!

  • In a baggy sweater .. I dont think you can tell, but ANYTHING form fitting .. HELLO baby bump! What is so strange is how despite the fact I have barely gained a thing , its somehow feels and looks like I gained 15 lbs overnight in my tummy ... the last week or so I have noticed a considerable difference in the belly , and I am 15 + weeks:)
  • I feel like I am showing...especially compared to my 1st pregnancy, but to others I don't think I look pregnant.

  • i have the tiniest bump and i will be 20 weeks tomorrow. it's pretty much the same as when i was prego with my son. i have a super long torso (i'm 5'8" and usually weigh about 135-140 pre-preg) so from 14 weeks on i look like i'm "chunky" or "thick" in the middle. if i wear maternity shirts it accents the small bump, but most times it just looks like i need to lose some in the middle. i figure i'll get my true baby bump in the next few weeks, which i am really excited about! i can't even remember when my bump showed with my son.

  • Depends who you ask.  Most co-workers, DH and I all see a definite, obvious and (IMO, anyhow) cute bump.

MIL says I don't look pregnant at all.  I do think she means it as a compliment because she's dealt with some weight issues and has worked hard to lose a lot over the past year, but it still annoys me.

  • Proudly showing :)

But, I didn't get a noticeable bump until about 20 weeks.

  • Definitely Loud and Proud! But I will say that it pretty much happened overnight...at about 21 weeks. This is my first pregnancy and I couldn't wait to finally look pregnant.

  • I am pretty big, but you can't really tell when I am wearing my coat.

I say you should get yourself a tight Christmas sweater! Show off your bump, even if it's not that bumpy yet. : )

  • I'm definitely showing. This is #3 for me though.  I've been showing since like 14 weeks this time around, and my belly just keeps growing! I'm carrying high and all out front though.

  • Loud and Proud!!! I finally got my belly around 20 weeks :) Like others had said it's like I swallowed a basketball :) Carrying all round and in the front (probably b/c he's a boy =) I agree with others-buy tight shirts to accentuate what little bump you have ;) It'll ge there soon!

  • Barely there. I'm 13w2d with my 4th baby and am still in all my regular pants. I'll have occasional days of bloat (especially in the evenings) and then I use the hair tie trick. Other than that, I'm just a little thicker through the middle (I'm 5'8" and 130lbs.)

  • I have a slight bump but it all depends on what I'm wearing really. Some maternity tops show more of my bump..I think those people that really know me can see the difference..
  • I'm shoutin' loud and proud!! I have a very short torso, and I actually asked the doctor about it because I know that women going through their first pregnancy don't usually show early but I look huge, and it isn't bloat because it is more firm. He said that because I have a very short torso, all my junk is moving around and there isn't a whole lot of room for it to go so it makes me show earlier. I'm happy that I'm showing, but at the same time I'm afraid of what I will look like when month 9 gets here!

  • I definitely have a bump, but it's not huge! It shows through my clothes, but it's kind of in the "did she eat too much at thanksgiving or is she pregnant" phase.

  • This is my second baby so I started showing at like 6 weeks this time around. With my previous pregnancy I didn't start showing until 20 weeks but then I just seemed to get bigger and bigger from then on. Now my belly is the same size at 22 weeks as I was with DS at 28-30 weeks :) Second one definitely changes when you show!

  • I just look like I ate way to much food at thanksgiving.

My little pumpkin was born at 34weeks, weighing 3lbs, due to severe IUGR & Unexplained Placental Insufficiency. He spent 49 days in the NICU. Lilypie Premature Baby tickers imageimageimageimageimageimage
