Baby dropping- sorry if this is a stupid question

How long does it take for baby to drop (if they do before labor)? Does it happen quick/all at once? or is it a gradual thing over a week or two (or longer)? Do you feel it/what does it feel like? I've been trying to find some info about it, nothing I've read really describes what it's like! Sorry if these are stupid questions... :)

    different for everyone and every pregnancy!  it can take several weeks for a FTM to drop.  But subsequent pregnancies can drop just hours before labor. So it's really hard to say. 

    With me and DD I did't drop until the day before I went into labor.

    I'm a FTM and I didn't know that baby dropped until the OB told me at my internal about a week & a half ago! I had noticed an increase in pelvic pain, and it was getting more difficult to walk for long periods and whatnot, but I didn't think anything of it. I'm not sure about how long it takes and all that, I just know I had more pain.

    I felt and saw a difference literally overnight. I suspect I am still dropping to a lesser degree though.

    It happened over three days for me. I woke up one morning and my belly was obviously lower than it had been the day before. Over the next two days, it just got lower & lower and seems to have stayed at that level for the last three days. I really don't think she could get any lower without popping out!!! lol
