3rd Trimester

40 weeks pregnant day

So, this Sunday I'll be 40 weeks. (hoping she'll make her arrival SOON).  So, the MIL asked us if on Sunday if we haven't had the baby yet - to come to their church as they are having a Thanksgiving Dinner afterwards for everyone. The last thing in the world I want to be doing at 40 weeks would be that. So, I'll get DH to tell her no, if need be.

But seriously, if I haven't had baby yet, I'll want the day to nap, walk, and  hang out at home and take it easy. I don't want to be sitting around with a bunch of people I don't know, eating, at 40 weeks pg.

What would you want to be doing on 40 week day if you haven't had baby?

Re: 40 weeks pregnant day

  • not going far from home....that is for sure....knowing my lazy butt you'll find me on the couch with some ice cream and the cat on my lap!
  • Loading the player...
  • that was this monday for me :(  and i spent it putting up my christmas tree and cleaning out the spare bedroom for my parents to use when they come over to visit the baby at the end of the month.
  • I'd be warm and cozy in my bed relaxing and waiting for baby's arrival.
  • Haha. Shopping! I'm due on Black Friday (Nov. 28) and I loooove to shop that day. The trip might be cut a little shorter than usual though .... Stick out tongue
  • i would want to be home.... not with some church people i don't know. ?
  • If I don't deliver by my EDD, I would get really good take-out, put in an excellent movie, and have DH paint my toenails and rub my shoulders.

I also would not want to attend a potluck with strangers.

  • Looks like I'll be at 40 wks with no baby... so my plans are just to really have no plans at all.  I'll probably rest, relax, watch tv, and do some walking or other "labor encouraging" activities :)  I couldn't imagine being at a potluck with strangers.  People will be asking you the same questions over and over (when are you due... oh today... you should try this; you look like you're going to pop; what are you having, blah blah blah). I know your MIL means well, but I'd definitely sit this one out.
