Hey all! our plans are coming together for our trip to Baltimore, and I wanted to see if folks still were up for getting together.
We'll be getting in on Wed. Jan. 25 late, and have an all-day workshop Thurs Jan. 26.
Looks like Friday afternoon/late afternoon would work for us, or Saturday afternoon might work if Friday doesn't.
Local folks: Where should we meet? Is there a fun kid place? We're staying at the Homewood Suites on South President St (inner harbor?) in downtown. It says there's an aquarium nearby? Or a Children's Museum (my kids are free since they're under two, but I dont know if its any good)?
If you are going to be around, let me know your thoughts on when and where- Yay!
Re: January GTG in Baltimore: thoughts:
There is a Children's Museum (Port Discovery) which is really great for kids, but a horrible place to socialize. And honestly, it is the only place I refuse to take them by myself since there is a huge climbing structure in the center where the kids can exit on any level.
My suggestion would be the Maryland Science Center at Inner Harbor. They have a Kid Zone, which is a large closed off area (so no chasing kids) for kids 8 and under. there is a submarine, a boat to climb on, a water table/pipeline thing, Duplos, pneumatic tube system, etc. My kids loved it at 2y and still love it at 5y. Plus, becuase it is a contained space, it is condusive to everyone chatting and simultaneously keeping an eye on their kids!

Kids under 3y are free and adults are $15.
There are several restaurants in the area which are kid-friendly.
I can't really do Fridays since I am coming from DC (work.) But Saturday should be fine (anytime after 10:30am since they have swimming lessons in the AM.) YAY!
I hope this can work out I would really like to meet some of you folks in the real world. Saturdays are usually good for me depending on our crazy baby mking appointments.
