Gas/Poop Cry

My DS always screams and cries when he's gassy or trying to poop. At what age is a baby's digestive system developed enough for this to not happen? I hate seeing my little guy so upset!

  • our ob said it can take up to 3 months for there digestive system to get used to everything, and to work out all the kinks! we having some of the same problems, she gets really bad stuck burbs :( and she grunts alot when she poops, but she does poop all the time, so atleast she's not constipated.

  • We have the same situation and I saw my doctor today. He recommended looking at my diet. Dairy, caffeine and chocolate are big triggers to gas, as well as gassy foods like broccoli, califlower, beans, garlic, etc. (you can google a full list). He also recommended trying to hold the baby upright during feedings and limit feedings to 10 minutes or so and then offering a pacifier. Shorter feedings more frequently...although that doesn't necessarily help with sleep.
