Anyone know some where inexpensive to print birth announcements? I don't mind designing my own and uploading them somewhere...I'm just trying to avoid paying $1+ each
Check out ETSY, they have some cute options.... you pick what you like, the person creates it and sends what you need... and then you go and get them printed.

This. I've seen announcement designs for as low as $15, and then you print what you need.
ETA: I've done this a few times for Christmas cards and just print the photos at Target or Walgreens.
After TTC with IR PCOS:
April 2011: Metformin 1500mg + Clomid 100mg + Ovidrel + Prometrium = BFP!

I think this is what we are going to do. I did get a $20 gift certificate to Shutterfly, but their announcements are $1.50+ each, and for 40-50 announcements, it's way too much for me to spend without a guilty conscience.
the site i have bookmarked for printing only is overnightprints.com. got the rec from money matters and baby showers board, and a friend of mine has used them for christmas cards. i wanted thicker cardstock rather than photo paper announcements. i will be getting my announcement designed from etsy for $15.

kodak gallery .com has them for like 69 cents or so a card, and the more you buy the cheaper they get - photo cards with envelopes - and then they ALWAYS have specials if you sign up for their emails...so I've never paid full price!
I just found out about them and they are amazing and the prices are GREAT! You can get 100 announcements for $30.. but you can also get much smaller amounts for less money as well!
Walgreens had some mixed in with their Christmas cards and they were 65 cents each. I got paper ones on clearance at Target that I assembled already and just need to add a picture when she gets here.
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!
If you arent looking for anything too elaborate, you might take a look at Mpix.com they have some simple ones that are i want to say $0.65 each and come in packs of 25. Options to have a message on the back and such. I used them for my christmas cards and came out really well.
I did my Christmas cards at target this year. I paid $23 for 50 cards (46 cents each). I think that pretty good... I remember paying much more for his christening invitations through Shutterfly. I think I'm doing my birth announcements with Target this time around. The cards came out so nice and they had a huge selection of options to choose from.
We use Winkflash. They're the cheapest we've found that we can upload our finished image. We've used Vistaprint, too, and they're good...but sometimes they don't offer the sizes I want.
Costco also prints Christmas cards and other announcement things. I'm pretty sure they have Birth announcements in their selection. You can upload your photo into a pre-designed card or upload your own. I do our Christmas cards this way and only paid $15 for 50 I think. It's a good option if you have one and are a member.

I have never paid more then $1.00 for my shutterfly announcements. I just looked and most are $.83 with some less then $.40, so it just depends on what you want! For 150 announcements for my first daughter (we have big families and the announcements were also thank you cards for my shower held after she arrived) I paid I think $75 including shipping. They always have some sort of promotion going on too, so you can get free shipping or discounts or whatever.

They are $.83 if you buy 150+. I would only need 40ish, which makes most around $1.40. But a discount is definitely possible, so I am keeping my eyes open for one!
Walmart's are 40 cents for 4x8 or 64 cents for 5x7 for the small quantity you need. Free shipping to store, envelopes included. We used them for Christmas cards and the quality was good with very fast turn around time.
If you do photo postcards from Winkflash (they don't include envelopes for the post cards, but they come on thick cardstock paper compared to the photo cards) the prices are great:

Good luck!
I just checked out kodakgallery.com (that's where I get most of my photobooks, prints, etc) and the 5X7" cards are 0.67 cents right now.
