Contractions in the back?

Last night, after sex, I started to have what I'm guessing is contractions in the back. Lower back pain would come in waves. I didn't really feel my stomach tightening though, it was mostly in the lower back and some groin pain. Does this sound like it could have possibly been a contraction? They went away after I fell asleep. They weren't all that painful because obviously I slept through them (except for one that was about 1 hr after I fell asleep).

    Yes, they can definitely be back contractions. It feels like a deep throbbing type of pain in your lower back. I get backaches during my period and I only had back labor w/my dd. I wasn't sure at first when they started but they got more and more painful and I was able to start timing them. I never had any pain or tightening in the front.

    I got false labor after sex the last two weeks but it was always menstraul like. When I went into labor baby was sunny side up so I had back labor.. It almost killed me lol

    this!!! i had lower back pain for a good 24 hrs before i decided i should go in and get checked. they had become timeable within the last 5-6 hrs of my stay at home. by the time i got to the hospital around 1130 pm i was 5 cms dilated. never really felt tightening in the front. had back labour but when she was born, she was no longer sunny side up...i'm thinking thanks to the yoga ball in the shower

    I had back contractions the week before I went into labor! Then once my labor started the back contractions pretty much stuck around until Liam was delivered! Thank god for the epidural because between stomach contractions and constant back contractions I was ready for some numbness!
