any tricks for treating diaper rash?

My poor LO's nether region looks just terrible.  Clear as can be yesterday AM, but by the end of the day it was just awful.  She has had lots of runny blowouts, which is making it worse, but no fever or other symptoms.  H is en route to pick her up from daycare so she can hang out at home naked to air it out.  Other than that, and not putting cream on unless the area is DRY, what can I do?

    Equal parts purple Desitin and Aquaphor mixed together & refrigerated.  Clears up the rash quickly, for us.

    Is she is still have a lot of blowouts put vaseline on her butt to protect it from the next runny BM.

    i've heard equal parts desitin & lotrimin!

    also try a hair dryer on cool setting to keep it really dry.

    I was told by my pedi to put a little baking soda in the bath and let her soak...I then have her go naked for a little bit to air out.  My DD is constantly coming home from daycare with rashes...she will be clear in the morning and red when we get her.  I have brought in my own sensitive wipes, asked them repeatedly to change her more often,,,,not sure what the cause is but it's irritating me. 

    DUE with Baby #2 on 10/26/14

    My niece who is 11 months old just had a terrible terrible diaper rash. Their urgent care that they called suggested Egg Whites. To spread it on and let it harden then put a diaper on over it. My SIL said you would not believe how well that worked. The egg whites harden and create a barrier. She said within hours it was better

    We do lotrimin and gold bond. Works every time.

    When DS had bad diaper rash our pedi told us to use wet paper towels (instead of wipes) just when he had a BM and then coat the area with lotrimin cream and vaseline.  It worked for us.

    Triple paste usually works wonders for us but when it doesn't we do this homeade concoction and it clears it up in no time- 

     Equal parts:

    Hydrocortisone
    Desitin
    Anti-fungal cream (Lotrimin)

    Mix ingredients together with a splash of Maalox.

    Thanks all!  I am going to try a lotrimin combo mix.  The pedi nurse suggested first lotrimin and then triple paste over that (or whatever cream of choice).  I guess I should be grateful this is our first bad diaper rash...we had a couple other minor ones, but this one is wicked!

    Liquid Maalox mixed with Desitin.  I haven't had to go there, but my brother swears by it.
