Have an infant and already TTC? (repost from 0-3ms)

Ok, so my DS is only 7wks old but hello I'm approaching 40 (not sure what that is in weeks...).  My DH and I haven't officially started the discussion if/when we try for Baby #2.  I'm certainly thinking about it alot more than he is.  Wondering if anyone else is considering going straight into TTC?

    Not me. But honestly, I am not sure if we will go for a second baby. My LO is 5 months and it just feels sooo soon to think of TTC. But if you and your DH are sure that you want a #2, it may not be so soon. Your kids would be a year apart, which is probably hard to deal with in the first couple of years, but then you will be done!

    I didn't TTC right after DS, but then I was 35 when I had him. I'd say that if you believe you'd be ready for 2U2 then go for it!

    As soon as I got my first AF (after BFing), we began TTC.   DS was 6 months old. Time is not on my side either, so while in an ideal world I would prefer about 3 years between kids, I'm not in an "ideal" world!

    My kids are 18 months apart.  We tried to have them closer, but it took time to get pregnant again (breastfeeding and I was in my late 30s).

    I had my first at 37 and my second when I was 39 (the year I turned 40).  Time is a factor.  It is just a fact.

    DH and I are already talking about baby #2. Our LO is 16 weeks.  I had him at 36. I am turning 37 this Thursday (Dec.22). My OB recommended that we start when LO turns 6 months. However, if I get pregnant before he turns 6 months, we will take it. Age is a factor. It took us a while to get pregnant with our LO.  So basically, you are not alone.

    As others have said, if you are ready then go for it. We wanted two, but it took us so long and finally IVF to get pregnant and I had DD a couple months before I turned 40 so we have unfortunately decided that we are one and done. But, if it hadn't taken us five years, we would still have had little ones close in age as I was already 33 when we got married.
