I've done everything herbal under the sun... I drink lemon/honey herbal decaffinated tea every day, and I usually have cream of wheat for breakfast...but uggg my throat and sinus are driving me crazy.
Probably the worst part is that when I'm coughing up phlem, I have a more sensitive gag reflex, so I'm usually prepping myself to accidently throw up too =(
Oh and to top it all off, I woke up sounding like a 80 year-old chain smoker!!
Re: Sick of being sick!
Have you tried the neti-pot? It helped a lot for me.
Feel better!
I recently got over a cold that caused me to have congestion in my nose and chest. I tried my neti pot, but it didn't work well for some reason. I didn't take any meds and it took me two weeks to get rid of that crap. Hope you feel better soon!
I have a neti-pot...It hasn't helped in the past, but i'll try it out again.
Oi PsyDr, I hope It doesn't last 2 weeks... but I guess I'm closing in on 1 week of being sick so it is possible!

Yeah, i've been battling those for quite a while now... nothing serious, just never-ending. I'm looking forward to not being pregnant anymore JUST so I can have my lady bits back in working order.
Never coorelated those two before...i'll keep an eye out!

I've found that Cepacol throat spray really helps diminish my cough from a dry throat or that tickle that won't go away. It just numbs the back of the throat.
I've never used the neti-pot, however, I've had really good success with the Ocean saline wash. It comes in a pressurized can so you can flush out your sinuses. I've been able to get even the most persistant mucus out using the wash.
I see you're in Tacoma. What part? I grew up in Parkland off of 138th and Pacific. I currently live about 45 minutes away in Port Orchard (between Gig Harbor and Bremerton).
Honestly it didn't work for me either (I needed antibiotics to kick the infection) but you seemed interested in non-medical intervention. I would definitely say if it lasts for another week, go check out the options. I let mine go for 2 weeks and it just got worse and I took longer to recover.
