Pregnant after a Loss

*~*~*Tuesday Ticker Change Check-In*~*~*

Hi Girls!  Congrats to Joanna914 who had her baby on 12/10 and has moved on to PAL!

What?s your ticker reading this Tuesday?  Any big ups, downs or milestones to share?

QOTW:  How old will your LO be this time next year?  Any holiday traditions you?re looking forward to sharing with them over the years?

Aluenna:  Any progress this week?  I love how you were thinking ahead and got a first Christmas ornament for your little girl in case she comes early.  She?s lucky to have such a thoughtful mom!

Bluenoser4ever:  Hooray for great news at your first ultrasound!  What a huge relief.  How have you been feeling these days?

Choicesmom:  Hope you?re all feeling better and are recovered from your colds in time to enjoy Christmas.  We?re staying home for Christmas as well and I?m so looking forward to not having to travel pregnant!  That would be much less relaxing.

Gerberva11837:  Exciting 35 week appointment this week ? good luck with your internal exam!  Here?s hoping things are starting to gear up in there so you?ll be able to have a delivery with your OB before he goes on vacation (what was he thinking with that timing?  :-p).

Jinx75:  Full term!!  Congrats!  Any progress this week?

JulesPplus:  Hooray for half baked and welcome to the check in!  Yay for your baby girl news!  Have you been able to feel any relief now that you?ve hit a great milestone and have a successful anatomy scan behind you?

MarxieVonTrapp:  Any change in your bump this week?  I feel like mine really took off at about 22 weeks.  I think that was the first week someone who didn?t already know I was pregnant asked me about it.

mscandyman:  Yay for your DH making it to your NT scan after all!  Were you able to get a clearer look at your followup u/s?  How exciting that you guys get to announce your pregnancy at Christmas!  You will have to tell us everything next week after the big reveal.

MsVolley02:  How was the 16 week checkup?  How much longer until your anatomy scan?  Are you planning to find out the sex?

Naflmj:  Congrats on your twin boy news!!  My DH grew up with two brothers and those three guys had so much fun together.  How exciting!

Pangnl179:  Yay for good news at your appointment yesterday!  Any new symptoms to report?  How great that you get to tell your parents on Christmas ? you?ll have to fill us in next week on their reactions!

Pottermommy:  I?m sorry you?ve been struggling with things emotionally lately.  I can?t even imagine what you must be feeling.  Sending you lots of hugs and congrats on 34 weeks this week.  That?s one of the bed rest goals my doctor has set for me, so yay for you for making it there!

Trishiepoo:  How was the hospital tour?  Did you get to see any newborns in the nursery?  There was only one in there the night we went, but I still don?t think it?s hit me at all that we might have one of those of our own to come home with in the near future.

Anyone else I?m missing or new to the check in?  Hope everyone?s week is off to a great start!

  • 17 weeks today!

I am definitely getting bigger and noticing that every few days I get some "growing pains".  My 16 week appt went great!  The doctor found the heartbeat pretty quickly and she said everything sounded good.

We did schedule my a/s for January 4th and we are planning on finding out the sex of the baby unless babes doesn't want to participate.  I can't wait!

QOTW:  LO will be about 6 months this time next year and although it will be still a little too early for LO to realize what is going on, I can't wait to start decorating the tree and opening presents bright and early in the morning.

  • Hey Lisa!! Glad to see you this morning!!  Thank you for the kind words of support.  I think it is just the holidays...I don't know, it may also be because this is the same week in my pregnancy with Kam that everything wnet crazy and she was born.....

Any ways yay for 34 weeks!!!! Since we are doing the RCS we only have 5 weeks at the longest before we meet him!!! That is exciting but nerve wracking.

We are now on modified bedrest!!! Yay! So today I went to SD's 1st grade Christmas performance with DH.  Gabriel apparently likes the singing he kicked and flipped the whole time.  He kicks when I sing him his lulliby so I know he likes it when I sing but I think he may just like singing in general...

That makes me smile b/c Kamryn was the same way, she loved to be sang to, not the radio, but for you to just sing song after song to her.  I hope he has some of her personality traits.  I don't want him to be her or anything but it would be nice to see peices of her you know.....

Our appointment is Thursday at 9:30.  I don't think anything big will be happening but who knows....

QOTW:  Gabriel should be around 11 months old this time next year.  I am happy that he will be older at his first Christmas b/c he will like the paper and stuff.  I am hoping he isn't scared of santa......

We live very near McAddenville NC or Christmas town USA.  People come from all over the country to drive through, the whole town lights up, and there is music from all of the light poles.  Well it takes about 3 hours to drive through it b/c of the line but we live so close we park at the gas station and walk through it on the night of the 23rd.

I am looking forward to pushing his stroller and watching his face as he sees all the moving characters and lights.  Hopefully we will have a warm winter next year too so he doesn't get too chilly.  I will need one of those stroller blankets for that night I guess.

  • I am 23 weeks today!  One more week until V-Day.  Bigest milestone is that I feel the LO all the time now, which is awesome.  She's especially active at night, so DH gets to feel her too.  My bump has not gotten particularly basketball-ish yet--I spoke to my sister and she said she really grew around 6-7 months so by mid-January I should be really, hugely obviously pregnant.  Can't wait.

My LO will be about six months old this time next year.  DH's family is in England, and we are on a three-year Christmas rotation which means next year we'll be taking LO to Manchester.  I'm so excited for him to see an English Christmas and start getting to know his English cousins and friends.  Other traditions include his first ornament--my mom still has all my ornaments from when I was born all the way to last year.  It's my life by Christmas!

And in other news, I am surviving my MIL's visit. Halfway there...and I'm totally living on a prayer because I really need to get through this next week without committing murder.  What's that?  Yes, she is staying with me for two full weeks.  ...whimpering...

  • 16 weeks today and exhausted again! I guess you really don't get that 2nd wind when you have a nearly 2 year old to chase around after work :) I am just so thankful for a good u/s last week and thrilled to be able to give DS two brothers and have always said I'd prefer a house of boys over girls any day... I do wonder if any of our little frozen embryo's hold a girl...I wouldn't try again for a girl specifically but I have been wondering :)

Next year they will be around 6 months depending on when they decide to arrive. I don't think they will care about x-mas but I am so excited to see DS with them and begin some wonderful traditions.

  • Hello!

better late than never to respond. It's been a busy day at work to say the least Smile

What?s your ticker reading this Tuesday? 35/35 today! Amazing how time has flown recently. I have my appointment with my doc on Thursday and we'll see how things are going. I now know he's going to be on vacation from January 19th - 30th, so right over my due date. Boo! He did say that once I hit 39 weeks if I wanted to he would induce so he could deliver, so we'll see how things are. It wasn't even his decision to take vacation at that time - it was his wife who didn't consult him. Apparently he has 12 women due in the two weeks he's gone so he's pissed that he's not there.

Any big ups, downs or milestones to share? Nothing really. Milestone is just 35 weeks

QOTW: How old will your LO be this time next year? Any holiday traditions you?re looking forward to sharing with them over the years? My LO will be 11 months old next holiday season. I can't think of any traditions, except that my dad is looking forward to reading a Christmas book to him/her that he used to read to me as a kid. He's held onto it all these years, and although it's falling apart he wants to continue this with his grandchild. So that's pretty cute.

Congrats everyone on an extra week!

  • Hi everyone, hope you are having a great Tuesday. I think it is so sweet that you write a personal message to each of us, it must a lot to keep up with but it is very thoughful!

I can't believe I made it to 8 weeks! I am flying pretty high after my appointment yesterday. I was able to have a surprise u/s and it really made me feel more confident than my first u/s did, not sure why. I am excited but a little nervous to tell our parents on Christmas. We are planning to tell others a few weeks after my 12 week appointment, we'll see how I feel about it then. My next appointment is 4 weeks from now (12 week, 1st trimester screening).

QOTW: Next year my LO will be about 5 months. I am so excited! Obviously he/she will be little but they might enjoy some things like the lights, paper, etc. Christmas was such a special time for me as a kid so I hope to keep some of the same traditions we had.

  • 27 weeks for me today and nothing too exciting going on.  Baby is still passing his weekly tests and my BP isn't awful yet, so I'm glad to have made it this far without any major pre-e drama.  I went for my GTT today and have everything crossed that I won't have to add that to my list of issues.  Eyes on the prize though, right?

QOTW:  It's hard to believe we'll have a 10 month old baby this time next year!  We don't have any particular must-do traditions, but it would be fun to come up with something to do as a new family.

  • lisaNDMike- thanks so much for these updates.  You do such an awesome job!

I am 13 weeks today and am feeling pretty good.  We were able to get a better view for our NT Scan on Friday and was surprised to receive a call with the results yesterday morning.  We are thrilled at the results, so we won't be looking into any further testing.  With my history of multiple early m/c's and being 40 at EDD, we were pretty concerned.  A huge weight has been lifted.

We also had a big group dinner with friends on Sunday to celebrate the holiday and we made our announcement.  It was pretty emotional as no one expected a thing. Lots of tears and hugs.  Our friends are awesome.  I wish we could have told our families first, but we just couldn't hold it in any longer. Now we are looking forward to telling our families when we travel over Christmas.  This will be my parent's first grandchild and I hope to capture their reactions on film.  That is, if I can keep it together long enough to hold the camera still!

Our Junebug will be 6 months this time next year.  I plan on passing along a tradition my family had.  Every year, they will get a Hallmark ornament with the year on it, usually depicting an event that occurred that year.  Like when I turned 16, I received Santa driving a convertible.  Then, once Junebug leaves home (OMG...did I just type that!?!?!  Seriously, just teared up), they will have a special box of ornaments to decorate their own tree.
