I am 28 wks right now and am on modified bed rest. I am also incredibly tired and uncomfortable. Honestly don't want to leave my couch - its the only place I am really comfortable.
eta: I'd be ok at a wedding, if I was sitting most/all of the time. I don't know about being a bridesmaid and having to stand through the ceremony though.

Modified bed rest too. Not to sound like a debbie downer, but Im tired and very uncomfortable, and couldn't handle a wedding right now. There are plenty of women on here who worked up to delivery, exercise daily, and are feeling great. Every pregnancy sounds different. Good luck with your decision!

I'm there now. I do get very tired and uncomfortable but I'd be able to attend a wedding as a guest if I had to. I don't think I'd be able to stand as a bridesmaid, but I could definitely go to show support and just sit a lot (and wear flats). I will say that I've been very lucky so far and haven't had any issues yet but that's of course not the case for everyone.

Sorry to disappoint you, but it would not have been feasible for me.
No way I could have done a wedding at that point as a guest, much less a bridesmaid.
I delivered at 33 weeks unexpectedly, but I could barely move from 26 weeks on. I was so swollen and uncomfortable and 1 baby was sitting on my sciatic nerve and I couldn't lift that leg.
I had to pee every 10 min and was still throwing up every day. I couldn't even change my PJ's much less get in the shower every other day. I sure as heck wasn't up to hair and makeup and pantyhose and nails and dress shoes (ha, those would never have fit - I was wearing hubby's slippers).
I was various forms of bedrest my whole pg also, but by then end it was strict bedrest with threats to be admitted to the hospital every few days.
But as PP said, some women do much better than I did and were still active. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones.
TTC #1 for over 5 years - too many to count IF treatments (tried everything and anything), repeat miscarriages.
Finally, Sticky Success!! B/G Twins arrived 2011.
I would go as a guest so I could sit as much as I needed but I wouldn't go as a bridesmaid. Attending the wedding would also depend on how far from home/hospital it was.

I worked until 36 weeks, so I must have felt pretty good at 30 weeks, but just remember you have no idea what will happen then. I would try and plan on going but wouldn't commit to being a BM.
I wouldn't be a bridesmaid at 30 weeks. And I felt really good right up until the last few weeks, no bedrest, still working until the day before I delivered at 36w6d... in August.
I think it would be better for the bride if you said you couldn't commit to be a bridesmaid. There's no way to tell if you can do it and frankly you'll be miserable if you try. If all goes well though you should be able to go assuming you don't have to travel. I went to my cousin's wedding at 33 weeks but only sat through the service and went home.

I'll be the Suzy Sunshine and say I would have totally been a bridesmaid at 30 weeks. (I felt great until I delivered at 34.5 weeks because of suspected IUGR.)
This was my shower in June at 32 weeks.
I ran 5 miles that morning, attended a family picnic/shower outside all day, drove 2+ hours to my IL's house, and was tired but social in the evening for their anniversary dinner party.
I had an extremely easy pregnancy, so while not the norm, every pregnancy is different. My one caution would be that dresses made me look big as a house at 30+ weeks. They were comfy as hell, but make sure you allow for plenty of extra fabric. Ha!

I turn 30 weeks on Friday and I'm positive I wouldn't have the energy to be in a wedding. As it is we're supposed to go to a wedding in two weeks and I think we'll only be staying an hour or two because I get worn down rather fast. My limit right now is walking around the grocery store for an hour (every few days, not each day) before I start to get sore and my feet swell - and that's not including the on again off again hip pain I'm getting from my sciatic nerve.

I went on modified bed rest around 28w (went down to part time) and 32w I went on hospital bed rest. Delivered at 36w. I was in a lot of pain and exhausted by 30w.
I'd see how you feel a week or so out and make the decision then. I know that sucks for them, but all bets are off for a twin pg. Lots of women get to 38w with no problem though.
No way I could make it as a bridesmaid, but I would definitely want to go to the wedding. Even if they did something like put a chair at the front of the church so you don't have to stand- I get uncomfortable sitting in a chair for too long. Maybe there is another role you could play in the wedding? I'm sure they would appreciate just having you there- trust me by 30 weeks I was getting comments every day on how surprised they were to see me out of bed at all!
Then of course as pp have pointed out there's a decent chance you would be on bedrest, in which case you wouldn't want to have to drop out of something like being a bridesmaid.
So many things to celebrate in your family! Hope you can enjoy it all!

I was MOH at my sister's wedding at 32 weeks. I stood during the ceremony, took all of the pictures, and danced a few slow songs at the reception. You don't know what might happen, but most of my pregnancy I tried to have a can do rather than a can't do attitude (which was easy because I had a relatively easy pregnancy and delivered at 35w 6d).
starting at 26 weeks i started to get bad BH's and needed to keep my feet up as much as possible per request of the & as of 30 weeks or so I really hit my wall where I can barely be on my feet for more than 5 minutes w/out feeling exausted or pressure. Also w/ 30 weeks brought horrible carpal tunnel and swelling for me. I think you could still make the wedding but if you're anything like me you'll need to sit as much as possible and not do a ton there.

My cousin got married this summer just 2 hours from where I live and when I was about 30 weeks pregnant. My OB wouldn't let me go that "far" away, and I was NOT having any complications or signs of PTL.
TTC for 3 years. Finally successful after 5 IUIs and 2 cycles of IVF. Our amazing twins were born 5 weeks early on 8/16/11. Found out April 2012 that our di/di twins are ID.
Thanks ladies. I want to say i will leave it up to the bride, but she will say "stay- we will see how you feel that day" but i don't want to feel pressured or feel like i am going to dissapoint her
i don't know whether to fully back out or wait until the last minute.
I went to 2 weddings around then... my SIL and my good friend. It was really hard to just go and sit most of the time (even with leaving early). I don't think I would have been able to have an active role in the wedding.

I read the subject "Bridesmaid at 30 weeks?" and my very first thought was "don't do it!" I had a very smooth pregnancy, and delivered without complications at 38 weeks, and I still would not have made that commitment. If you can go, just go as a guest. Hopefully your brother will understand that.
Re: Bridesmaid at 30 weeks?
I wouldn't have been a bridesmaid.
I went to a big bday bash around 32 weeks and I did ok. I could only stay for 2 hours though and I was sitting most of the time.
