In need to amazon help....any advice?

I received an email that my Amazon Mom Free Shipping Benefits have ended. Normally I would not worry too much and would just open another account in DH's name. But, I was laid off last week and am going to have to be careful with every $ spent. I still have the 30% on the items that I have subscribed to. If I open a new account in DH's name those subscriptions will be brought back down to 20%. Is there any way to keep my 30% and get free shipping without having to pay for a prime membership?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

Not unless you can con a family member or friend to share their Prime Membership with you.

If you are a paying Prime member, you can share the shipping benefits with 4 other people.

If they are already a paying Prime memeber, how would they add me so that I don't lose my 30% discounts? Do you just have to link the 2 accounts?

I think you should still get free shipping on your subscribe and save subscriptions. Right now you're not getting the Amazon Prime 2 day shipping on it anyway. Look at the details for the subscriptions.

I'm pretty sure you still get free shipping (on diapers and such anyway, I don't know about everything) it's just 5-7 days instead of 2.

Also, most of the subscribe and save items still qualify for Super Saver Shipping (the over $25 kind). It will be one off items that would be affected. I'm adjusting to the life without Prime, and I miss it so, but I've learned to plan ahead so that the 3-5 day shipping doesn't kill me and to group items into a bigger order so that shipping is still free. Prime instilled some very bad shopping habits.

Subscribe and save items don't get prime shipping anyway, they just get the regular free shipping (which always manages to come to us in just a few days anyway). So keep your account open for the subscribe and save items, but open a new one in your husband's name for any other items you might want to purchase and get the prime shipping on. This is what we did and it has worked out fine.

They go into their account settings to Manage Prime Membership. There is a link to share your Prime with others. They will need to know your email address and birthday and you will need to know their birthday (security type question on both ends). You will get an email that gives further instructions.

DH and I both have an Amazon account. We signed up for Prime under his for the instant videos and Kindle lending library. I had Amazon Mom on mine. So I set it up to share his Prime with my account.

This is all very good to know! I will be sure the little guy in my head files this away for future use should it come down to it. I know my super awesome uncle would be willing to share. He is fabulous! Thanks again!

Not at all! I am really good at stocking up and planning ahead of time. I just thought that I would have to start paying for shipping, regardless of timing. My nerves are already on edge, this sent my brain to instant panic mode. Embarrassed

I just wanted to add that Amazon Mom is closed to new members right now, so you couldn't get your DH an account anyway. They have a waiting list but they haven't said how long it's going to be before they open the program again.

Well, that's not very nice of them! Thanks for the heads up. As long as I still get my diapers shipped free, I can manage on the other things.
