When I was pregnant with Annabelle I never remembered the daycare search being this painful, but now that my little girl is two years old, I just feel that no one will be right for my girl. We have interviewed four providers in the last four days. I wish I could quit my job, but we really need the money and I carry the health insurance, so this momma has to work.

I really like the daycare centers, but I don't like the price tag, nor can we afford that when baby girl#2 arrives. We have pretty much narrowed our search down to in-home providers. Annabelle has been in both in-home (for a year) and daycare center (3 months). Last night we interviewed two different providers, both in the Abingdon area. One of them right down the road, she's a mother of three and only watches 5 children, and only one infant. Bonus is will have an infant spot available come June. Some of you know Annabelle and know that she's a shy girl, not last night. She took off her coat and shoes and instantly fell in love w/ dcp 5 year old. I just need to check her references and DH wants to interview these last two places, before we make our decision.
Re: I have horrible mommy guilt!
I'm glad it sounds like you found someplace you might be happy with.
I remember finding daycare to be really difficult, and we were only looking at centers. Even when we decided on a place, my feeling was just that it was "fine". I tried to convince myself it is where we live. For some reason while looking, I had this image in my head that we would find "the perfect place" and it would be wonderful, it would be obvious when we found that place, and the heavens would open up. It is possible that I watch too much tv. Fortunately, in the end, Sophia seems to really like where she is and the people really seem to care about her.
Good luck!
