18 days to go and I think we finally have a name!

We have been struggling to come up with a name for lo but I think we finally have it!

What do you guys think of the name Bruce?

I had mentioned it to dh about 3 months ago and he did like it but after thinking about it I felt it was too "manly" sounding for a baby so we dropped it. We were considering the name Evan and I was finally at the point where I was happy with naming the baby that but then dh came home from work and told me that he really wanted to name the baby Bruce. He even had a list of famous and cool people named Bruce, lol. It was really cute because he was soooo excited about it.

We still have to figure out a middle name but I think it's going to be the same as dh's, Raymond. So it would be Bruce Raymond, what do you guys think?

  • I like it! Very masculine, and I think the first and middle names go together well too. Haha, I'm just happy for you that you've (hopefully) settled on something! :)

  • Very strong and masculine.  Not something that you hear everyday but not uncommon either.  Good choice!

  • I like it!  I also like Evan a lot.  You can't go wrong with either name, although I think Bruce Raymond flows better.  I had a friend in college named Bruce, and he was a great guy!  Congrats on (hopefully) deciding!

  • Thanks ladies! I like it more the more I think and talk about it. At first I just felt that it sounded so big and masculine that I couldn't see a little baby or little boy with that name but it's weird that it seems almost right or something. I feel so relieved to finally find something that we agree on, I thought this child was never going to have a name :)

  • I LOVE the name Bruce! Its always been on my list. I think its a great name for a kid and adult and its super fun and cute for a baby.. Can't you see it?? A little chubby baby named Bruce!
  • Maybe it's because I'm from Jersey, but all I think about is Springsteen when I hear that name. That's not a bad thing...

  • Dito!  Around here we just refer to "The Boss" as Bruce.  Which is an awesome thing.

  • I really like Bruce. I think of Batman, which is an awesome thing :) As people have said, it's strong and masculine but not common and overused.

  • Wow!  You finally agreed on one!  That's great!

Bruce is very masculine and not very common so I love it!  Congrats on the decision.
