Pregnant Questions
1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? 21 weeks. Nothing new.
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? It was this morning so my next one would be in Jan. Nothing exciting just got told I hadn't gained enough weight between last visit and this one.
3. What are you looking forward to this week? Flying to see my family!
4. Monday confession? I'm really enjoying the time off from work and away from my students! I kinda wish I didn't have to go back.
5. For those that know what they're having, or already-moms; how accurate was your "mothers intuition" in guessing the sex of the baby?-jennlin It was correct the first time and as long as this one comes out a boy it was right both times.
6. Are you taking/have you taken childbirth classes? If so, where? What kind? Did you like them? - shevaCC I took one offered by my hospital when pregnant with DD. It was helpful but I probably won't take one this time.

1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? 7 weeks, none.
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? Not until the 27th, no clue what to expect it being a different office and all. From what I understand they don't do early U/S unless you have a dating issue, or other issues. I had one with T and I am really bummed I may have to wait until closer to 20 weeks to see this bean. Let alone the heart beat until 12weeks.
3. What are you looking forward to this week? Christmas, to be over. I know sad, I am just not into it this year.
4. Monday confession? for lunch I ate half a bag of chili cheese chips, and peanut butter M&M's. Great so much for not gaining too much.
5. For those that know what they're having, or already-moms; how accurate was your "mothers intuition" in guessing the sex of the baby?-jennlin It was dead on, I was positive I was having a boy. I don't know yet on this one. But I am leaning towards boy right now.
6. Are you taking/have you taken childbirth classes? If so, where? What kind? Did you like them? - shevaCC No, and I don't plan on taking any classes unless I am told I have to. I did take all the classes offered when I had T at Everett Womens and childrens pavillion and they were good.

i took "day about baby" and "labor and birth preperation" (i think that's what it's called) at evergreen. i already knew most (99%) of the info, but i think it was good to have h there. i read stuff constantly, and send him articles i think he might be interested in, but i'm sure he's still only skimming those. it makes everything a little more real, knowing he's involved and learning. my role in these classes is just tapping him every 15 minutes to make sure he's still awake

i always told people "we'll see what happens". and if they persisted, i'd tell them that "when the time is right". they didn't need to know how often h and i were bumpin'.

5. For those that know what they're having, or already-moms; how accurate was your "mothers intuition" in guessing the sex of the baby?-jennlin--It really is 50/50, and it could go either way.
6. Are you taking/have you taken childbirth classes? If so, where? What kind? Did you like them? - shevaCC--Umm, no. I was signed up for them with my son. But he was a preemie, and I got a crash course in childbirth. So we just took a breastfeeding/taking care of baby class instead--kinda funny--I was an expert in the class because I was pumping at the time, and our kid was down the hall from the classroom in the ISCU.

1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? 34 weeks on Thursday, and I keep having leg spasms/Charlie horses at night.
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? A week from tomorrow. Just a regular appointment.
3. What are you looking forward to this week? Finishing up Christmas shopping and getting ready to celebrate!

I was sure it was a girl up until I saw the testicles. With Bean, I was right from the beginning. This pregnancy felt different. I KNEW it was a girl.
6. Are you taking/have you taken childbirth classes? If so, where? What kind? Did you like them? - shevaCC I didn't take any. I learn best from reading, so I did some reading online and then had me a baby.

5. What is your answer to "are you trying" or "when are you having another" ?theresab I tend to be sarcastic and say, "Well, not at this moment ... I'm here talking to you!" or "I'll get right on that this evening."
6. At what age do you think you should stop TTC? ?newmommy74 I don't think there is a right answer to this. I think it depends on what you are comfortable with as parents in terms of being such-and-such age when your child is such-and-such age. If you don't want to have a child in junior high when you're 50, or you don't mind being close to 60 when your child graduates from high school, then that is something you have to decide.

1. What week are you in? 29 weeks and 4 days. Any new aches or pains? Same old same old. Damn it's harder with a 2 year old!
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? My half birthday! Tuesday the 3rd. Nothing special.
3. What are you looking forward to this week? Having the next two weeks off and cleaning up around here!
4. Monday confession? We had got home late today (3:30) but I still put Laurel in her room for some quiet time. She was SO tired when we were out and about, at the children's museum, etc. but she does better later when she has at least a little bit of time to herself, napping or otherwise.
5. For those that know what they're having, or already-moms; how accurate was your "mothers intuition" in guessing the sex of the baby? I KNEW that Laurel was a girl, and I was right. With Lane (current PG) I didn't have a strong feeling like I did with Laurel. I was a little surprised though because I envisioned myself having all girls.
6. Are you taking/have you taken childbirth classes? If so, where? What kind? Did you like them? I took the standard classes at Evergreen. I definitely used the breathing techniques during labor and the ideas for different positions to be comfortable in. I also think it's helpful to get your DH ready for everything. There's no way my DH would get prepared by reading a book.

1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? Wk. 17, my cold is back. Booo. Other than that, everything pregnancy related is great.

3. What are you looking forward to this week? A 3-day work week!
4. Monday confession? The 2nd tri sex-drive is in full effect.

But I was certain that Lucy was a girl. So certain that I refused to even discuss boy names with DH. And I was right! I'm pretty convinced this one is a boy...we shall see.
6. Are you taking/have you taken childbirth classes? If so, where? What kind? Did you like them? I took the childbirth series at Swedish with my DD and really liked it. This time I'm planning to take a VBAC class, and possibly a refresher class about labor.

5. What is your answer to "are you trying" or "when are you having another"? I always kept it vague like "maybe someday" or "oh yeah, we're thinking about it" and if they kept digging I'd say something like "don't you know babies are expensive?!"
6. At what age do you think you should stop TTC? I'd like to be done having children by 35, but I wouldn't rule out TTC based soley on age at that point. If I still felt good and was healthy and it was right for us, we'd probably TTC up to about 37-38.
7. How much folic acid supplement did your dr. recommend while TTC? Was that the total amount, or in addition to folate (from food)? I don't remember exactly what the folic acid doasage was, but I started just taking a prenatal when we were TTC. I think the specific folic acid was about 800mcg.

We're 32w4d today! Nothing terribly new, achey/painy-wise; it's all the same stuff, really, in that department. LO has developed a decided habit for snuggling his or her little butt right up against my ribs, though, which is amusing and kind of adorable.
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment?
Jan 3rd. Nothing terribly exciting, except that it's my last biweekly appointment.
3. What are you looking forward to this week?
Continuing spending time with my wonderful in-laws... and then a week in Hawaii! WOO!

We took the ones at Swedish -- the six week course covering childbirth, newborn care, and breastfeeding. It was all right -- I'd done a LOT of reading beforehand, so what I was looking for was less in the way of general information and more in the way of being able to ask questions, both about my specific circumstances and about Swedish's policies and procedures, etc. So... I liked them all right, I suppose?

4. Monday confession? - I ate way too many cookies/cookie dough earlier while baking and now I am completely nauseous

For those that know what they're having, or already-moms; how accurate was your "mothers intuition" in guessing the sex of the baby?-jennlin - I was pretty dead set that Jake was a boy and obviously I was right. With this one I was convinced from the beginning until about 20 weeks that it's a girl. At 20 weeks I started thinking boy. Now I have no clue.

2WW. We are on a treatment break until after we get some more testing done. But we are still trying the old fashioned way, which DH is loving.

I can't even get pregnant after IVF. I'm probably not the best person to answer this one.

"It's not as easy as everyone thinks it is" usually either ends the conversation, or I find someone else who is having trouble and we can commiserate. Before we were having trouble it was always "in the next year or so" which I felt was vague enough.

We didn't really start trying for our first until I was 34, so my answer is probably going to be on the older side of things. I always thought we'd stop at 40, mainly because I can't imagine continuing with treatments for more than 5 years. But that's still far enough away that I don't really have a set deadline. I want a baby. I'll keep going until we have one, one way or another. I don't think there is one answer for everyone.
7. How much folic acid supplement did your dr. recommend while TTC? Was that the total amount, or in addition to folate (from food)? ?CDMay2006
I just take a prenatal vitamin. It's 800 mcg.

1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? Just over 32 weeks. Oddly, and probably not pregnancy related, my heels have been really sore lately. They were killing me in yoga the other day.

1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? I'll be 17 weeks on Friday! Still getting sick so I'm anxious for that to be over and I'm starting to get more RLP and uncomfortable stretching. I had some BHs last night too.
2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? Next Tuesday. Just a normal appointment but my big u/s is 3 days after that on the 30th! Yay!

I had a strong feeling DD1 was a girl from the beginning, with DD2 I went back and forth for awhile but the last couple of weeks before her big U/S I was pretty sure she was a girl too so I've been right 100% of the time so far. I think this one is a girl too, we'll see soon if I go 3 for 3 ;-)

They were okay, I didn't really learn much that I didn't already know or hadn't read about elsewhere. I don't regret them but I wouldn't have been lost without them.

I usually just say "sometime in the future". People have good intentions when they ask this, so I don't get too upset about it.

I think this is different for each person, I don't know that I could ever give up unless getting pregnant would be unsafe for some reason.

I wasn't given specific amounts of any vitamin, just told to start taking pre-natals.

In early Jan, I get to meet the Swedish Ballard midwives I'm switching to.

I flew to NC on Monday night (red eye) with DH and am spending the next 3 weeks visiting my parents. So nice to not worry about dinner every night.

I'm supposed to be working remotely rather than vacationing, but my grandmother took me shopping for a Christmas dress this afternoon.
