Ok, so my DS is only 7wks old but hello I'm approaching 40 (not sure what that is in weeks...). My DH and I haven't officially starting the discussion if/when we try for Baby #2. I'm certainly thinking about it alot more than he is. Wondering if anyone else is considering going straight into TTC?
Re: Are you staying off BC in hopes of TTC already?
We definitely won't be. I hated being pregnant. That really sounds terrible, but it's true. Right now my plan is to wait at least 2 years before trying again, and that is with the expectation that I won't get pregnant right away.
I can see how if I enjoyed my pregnancy more I might be more tempted to have our LOs closer together in age. We'll see if I still feel the same way once I've got a few months of distance from my pregnancy and labor and have given myself time to forget.
If i ever get my period I will be on BC for a full 3 months. Once i hit the 6month mark we will be back to not trying yet trying. At year mark we will start TTC actively.
I loved being pregnant with both pregnancies. Not to mention that we actively tried for a few years to have ds2 so we figure lets do it. we also would want our third to be closer in age than the first 2.
Personally, I'm absolutely not ready to start TTC. My career is in limbo because of having a baby, I'm most likely starting a job with a new company in February, my body is still sore from the stretched muscles of pregnancy, and I'm enjoying the time with just my son.
HOWEVER
I fully understand that the age of the mom plays a huge factor in child spacing and if you're ready for it then get back in bed and make a baby!
I've never been on birth control (the pill or other means), but we are charting to avoid & using condoms.
We plan on TTC #2 in October of 2012.
Hate to butt in but to prevent misinformation, abnormal paps and pre-cancerous lesions of the cervix are caused by HPV (which is sexually transmitted but is VERY common) not any form of contraception. Note that some abnormal paps are not pre-cancerous though, but that is separate. Not that I am implying anyone should use contraception, just clarifying the facts.
I've never had HPV. The only time I had abnormal paps was when I was on bc. I haven't had problems since discontinuing bc.
