I went ahead and called to make my first appt. today and they didn't ask for my last menstrual cycle or anything they just picked a day and asked if I could come in. My appt. is for the 3rd and I will only be like 6 weeks and 2 or 3 days (by my calculations)...they tried to get me in earlier but I was going to be out of town. Is that strange? I asked how soon they usually wanted ladies to come in after a positive test and they said they just take them when then can when they call. I will be with a nurse practitioner so I am expecting just to pee in a cup, get an estimated due date from my last period date, and maybe some bloodwork and give some history. Does this sound about right? I guess they will probably schedule me for a pelvic exam and maybe ultrasound a little later on?
I feel like I have been posting like crazy but I guess I am just nervous and excited and don't have much else to do cause of the holiday except obsess! Sorry!
Re: 6 week 1st appt.
My office likes to schedule at 8 weeks, but I had my "welcome" appointment today.
I met with an NP and I had a pap, blood work/glucose test, ultrasound (but that's because of some other issues) and a lot of health history given.
They also gave me a binder with prenatal screening info, birthing classes, a pamphlet on the birthing center, things to avoid, important numbers, etc.
Yours will probably be similar!
