Success after IF

Looking for some Good Vibes...

Hi Ladies-I usually post under the Infertility boards, but I'm looking for some good vibes and perhaps some words of wisdom if possible.

I'm in the dreaded 2 week waiting period before our 1st Beta and am beyond excited and nervous. At our ER, they were able to get 8 eggs, 6 of which were mature and 4 of which fertilized. We did a day 5 ET and we get the "results" on Xmas Eve. Of the remaining 2 eggs, none made it to freeze.

I'm 30. I have Lean PCOS. My DH is 35 with MFI (low, slow, morph), but this is our 1st IVF w/ICSI and all test results, lab work, etc. has looked good so far.

I don't know if I'm supposed to be feeling any symptoms if I was pregnant. And if so, how can I tell if they are real or caused by my PIO or Vivelle patches?

Can IVF #1 work?!

I'm sorry to bother you, as I'm sure you are all super busy tending to your growing families and/or taking care of your pregnant bellies...but I really just needed some sunshine....

Thanks!

Re: Looking for some Good Vibes...

  • I did not have any pregnancy symptoms - even after my beta was positive and well into the first trimester. I think analyzing every possible thing drives you more batty than anything! After years of BFN's I was convinced I would know when I finally did get pregnant - but I didn't have a clue until I peed on a stick.

It took me 3 IVFs to get pregnant(poor egg quality), but many people are successful on their first. Good luck!!

A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • I think the first IVF works for a lot of people (not me, but many others). There is no way of knowing if your symptoms are real or PIO induced. The only difference between my successful and unsuccessful IVFs where my exhaustion in the first couple of weeks/Trimester. That can be cause by PIO tho; the only reason I know it was pgncy related is because the PIO didn't make me exhausted with my two prior IVFs. Tons of luck to you!
