  We did an rfamily cruise in 2009 and it was awesome.

  we'd LOVEEEE to do this, but alas, the kids are too young to enjoy it. Maybe in a few years.

  Hmm....Interesting. It is only a 6hr drive. I just don't know about the $2000 cost because we have to take a week +  of vacation between the last week of camp and the first day of school. You going?

  the site is down for me so i couldnt check the prices, but if its $2k it might be a bit rich for us considering its only a long weekend.

  It is $600 per adult, Sprout would be $400, and RB would be $300 + 17.5% tax! For 4 nights.
  

  I didn't notice it was just for a long weekend. Wow. We spent $2000 (including food, travel, and rental of a 4br/4ba condo) for a week last summer.
  

  I think it would be really fun and I am sure the kids would have a BLAST. But do they think gay peeps are made of money!?!?!?

  ugh, i know.  I feel the same way about olivia - you could get the same cruise, just the non-gay version, for half the price!

  I wonder why its so much.

  when we did the alaska cruise, it was like $1200 each...basically non-sale rates on Norwegian, which I was fine with since a) the ship wasn't packed and b) they brought on their own entertainment - we didn't see  a single standard cruise program.
