E still isn't sleeping and I'm about to lose it. She's waking up screaming every 20 minutes now at night (naps are ok - a little shorter than normal, but they're ok). I think I'll die soon if we don't start getting some sleep.
I think it's teething (dr ruled out ear infection last week), as I can see a third tooth poking through. tylenol helped a little last night (she slept about an hour straight), but is there anything else I can do besides ride this out? Is 7 months old enough for some of those teething tablets (hylands)? should I get some motrin or advil and try to see if that helps better than the tylenol (is she old enough for that)?
Re: serious sleep deprivation... halp!
Oh no! I thought you were our lucky sleep momma out of the under-1 crowd.
Motrin always worked better for us than Tylenol for teething pain. She's old enough.
I hope the tooth breaks through soon and gives her (and y'all) some relief.
yes, i think I'm paying for all those months of sleep right now. every.20.minutes! OMG! even newborns sleep better than this!
good call on the motrin. I'm going to venture out and pick some up soon (and if anyone sees me looking like death, either pretend you don't know me or give me a hug)!
Ditto rssn: only Motrin helped our DD. She was an awesome sleeper too, but a horrible teether, and she hardly slept while teething.
Good luck!
ugh, that does not sound fun. sorry!
i've given ds the hylands tablets. they seem to work, or either it's just a placebo effect! i'd try them. i'd even may try some orajel. they make some now without the numbing stuff so it's more natural.
hope you get some sleep soon!
Andrew started teething at 5 months and we have been giving the Hylands since this all started. He has 8 teeth now and those work so well we don't even use Tylenol or Motrin. Oh and most of the mom's in my playgroup use it and love it!
Good luck!
