For dessert is a new recipe i have never made. It is a very berry pie. It has blackberries, blueberries, and other good things. I am excited to try it.
We will also be having my Gooey Butter Cookies. Super good!
i am not really allowed to cook christmas dinner (big issue between m-i-l and me...), but we always have a big ham and/or turkey. also mashed potatoes.
i plan to make homemade dinner rolls, a big salad with candied pecans, and roasted butternut squash with brown sugar as the dishes only my husband and i will eat.

We're doing a mini "Christmas dinner" with just the 4 of us on the 23rd, before we head out of town - for that I'm making stuffed shells, salad, and bread.
For Christmas Eve with my family we're going simple and old school (so excited!) - ham, hash brown casserole, green bean casserole, some type of salad/ cold dish, and rolls.
For dessert we always have St. James Pudding (awful) and rice pudding (tolerable) - which are traditions from both my grandpa's and grandma's families, and which we do only for tradition's sake!
Re: What are you making for Christmas dinner?
I am serving a spiral ham, homemade potato and cabbage pierogies (a Polish tradition), broccoli cheese casserole, an Asian inspired salad, and rolls.
For dessert I am serving a pecan pie, assorted Christmas cookies, and a white chocolate Chex Mix mix.
Not sure about the appetizers yet...
Appetizer platter provided by my step-aunt
Endive Stuffed with Goat Cheese and Walnuts (recipe swap on What's Cooking)
Roast Beef Tenderloin
mashed potatoes
green beans with almonds
Yorkshire Pudding
Santa Hat Brownies
bread pudding with whiskey sauce and whipped cream
A beef brisket
Garlic mashed potatoes (homemade of course)
Green bean casserole
Rolls

I posted this last week and got my inspiration. Here's our menu so far. May need to fill in with a couple more sides.
Pine nut cheese crisps (appetizer)
Brie stuffed mushrooms (appetizer)
Roasted beef tenderloin (Main dish)
Creamy herbed potatoes (Side dish)
Roasted brussel sprouts w/pancetta - minus the potatoes (Side dish)
Homemade rolls
And to finish off my mom is making some fancy desserts.
Yum! I can't wait.

I forgot another appetizer we're making.
Caramelized onion dip
