Mega Blocks have been a huge hit for DD since age 1, we also really have loved the B.Zany animal blocks from Target - colorful, fun shapes, and a neat soft plastic material (but not plastic). The B.Zany are more traditional blocks and not lego-like. Oh and WalMart has a decent set of wooden traditional blocks with letters and numbers. We're big on blocks here.

We have both megablocks and the wooden ones. I will say the megablocks get played with more. The wooden ones they like to just dump on the floor so I usually hide them somewhere!

Bonus was that they were both stackable AND chewable. And they squeak when you squeeze them.
I am thankful every day for my miracle after infertility.
And thrilled to be pregnant again after FET!
