There are a few sites out there that offer maternity formal wear for rent. I'm thinking of renting this one from Mine for Nine for DH's work holiday party (they do it in January to avoid the religious overtones).
I'm a huge fan of Rent the Runway, so I'm totally comfortable renting dresses, but maternity is trickier. Hard to predict the sizing and fit. Plus RtR has fabulous customer service & will have your back if a dress doesn't work (they overnighted me several different options to my hotel when my original wasn't working), but I have no idea how Mine for Nine stacks up.
Has anyone used Mine for Nine or another rental site? How was your experience? If not, would you use it?
Re: Have you/would you rent a maternity cocktail dress?
Kind of seems like a pain in the butt. The only reason I would ever do it is if I had to go to some sort of formal gala where gowns were called for (though I have never been to something like that and can't foresee it in my future).
Otherwise I would just wear a dress from Thyme or Motherhood or something - people typically give pregnant women a lot of slack when it comes to dressing up.
I think it's kind of an awesome idea...
Didn't realize that there were places out there that would do this! What rock have I been living under... Now I'm praying for a wedding to attend or some type of fancy do so this would make sense... ;P
