How easy it to travel (by plane) with an infant? My husband will possibly have a work trip to Aruba in February, when our little one will be about 6 or 7 weeks old, and I'm wondering if we should consider going with him. We live in MN, so flights would be about 3 hours to Miami and then another 4 hours to Aruba. I've heard babies travel pretty well, since they still sleep a lot at this point, but if anyone has previous experience with this, I'd love to hear it!
(I do realize we'll need a passport, and we'd probably have to pay extra to get this in time.)
Re: Traveling with an infant
I have also heard that when they're very young they travel well because they sleep so much, but I don't have personal experience to speak from.
In my personal experience it is so much easier flying with a baby then a toddler. Babies will sleep most of the way and you can easily nurse them, give them a bottle or a paci to help with the ear pressure.
My DD flew like a champ when she was a baby. Once she learned to crawl and walk it was horrible to keep her still for the flight and she was also fussy because she wanted to move around.
I think the trip sounds great!
I would not worry about this. Lots of people in warm climates have babies and don't sit inside all day long. It's February, so the average temp is in the low 80s, so it is not crazy hot. Just stay in the shade with the baby.

No clue about flying, but we took a 12 hr car ride from MN to southern KS when DD was 10 weeks. I was really worried it'd be tough but she honestly slept most of the time, which really surprised me. So I would imagine that flying would be just as easy, if not easier. NBs really don't do a lot at that point.
I would just make sure you've recovered enough that you feel comfortable flying and carrying all that stuff. But if we could afford it and everything I'd probably go
