small gush, update!

So earlier this afternoon i felt a pop followed by a small gush. I thought i may have just peed a little but afterwards i started to wonder if maybe it was my water braking. I took everyones advice and called the on call OB...NO HELP! I felt as though i was just bugging him. I told him what happened and he said it was probably nothing because when your water breaks its a large gush that doesn't stop. I know that this isn't true! he said to put a pad on and see if there was a significant amount still leaking out. If there was a significant amount...i made him specify and he said if your pad is socked within about 20 min. To me that would be excessive but whatever.

I have not had what he considers to be "significant" amounts of leakage. But there has been some. I am worried that he is just trying to make it so he doesn't have to go into the hospital...now i am annoyed

Since about a half hour ago i started feeling light headed (idk if that has anything to do with labor or not?) and BH contractions are consistent..none of the contractions are painful but i will get random spells of massive pressure like she is trying to escape.

Im frustrated by my doctor and I feel like if i call back he is just going to give me more excuses. like "it's probably nothing" well you know what buddy "probably" isn't good enough for me!

  • Rp. Go get looked at with Dd I felt and heard the pop and did not loose much plus the baby could be blocking more from coming go and get looked at you need to deliver within a certain period of time from water breaking
  • I would just go in to L&D.  Don't even bother calling him again.  I didn't think early contractions were painful at all.  I had some BH that were worse.  If they are consistent, they could be real.  I would go get checked.  Better safe than sorry!

  • Your doctor sucks. I'm sorry that you are dealing with that stress!
  • Your doctor sounds like he's either a total idiot or a total jerk.  So sorry for you!  The baby could totally be blocking a large gush, making it a slow trickle.  I'd definitely go to L&D - good luck!

  • I see that you decided to go in, which is good to be safe.  In the future, just know that anytime you feel something is wrong, you can just go in.  The 3 times I had to go in, the staff did all necessary testing, then just called my doctor or the doctor from my practice on call and he didn't have to come in since I was not in labor.
