Does anyone have an infant who like mine cannot be calmed or helped to sleep with simply a pacifier and a rub on the tummy or back? I have to rock him almost completely asleep if I put him in his crib not asleep he will kick, grab his feet, and roll around. This will last up to ten minutes before he starts crying.
However, if I put him in his car seat he will eventually fall asleep!
Any advice? Much of what I read suggests tactics that just don't work for my five month old.
Re: Sleep help
Months 4 to 6 were the hardest for me when it came to putting LO down to sleep. I had to nurse and rock him to sleep every night. Around 6 or 7 months he got much better at self soothing and I could turn on his little rainforest mobile thing and he would fall asleep on his own 80% of the time.
I think you'll find that he'll be ready to put himself to sleep on his own soon, but in the meantime maybe download some books on your ipod or phone so you can read in the dark while you're nursing and rocking (that's what saved my sanity lol)
