She has been constipated every since starting solids regularly (at least4 months now), I like to give her a wide variety of flavors but now think I should probably tone it down, but does that mean I have to stop feeding her all the good stuff, like apples, bananas etc? Anyone have any good recommendations for a constipation free diet?
(p.s. Warning, I about to a PW for a few)
Re: Baby constipated ever since starting solids regularly
We cut out apples and bananas unless they are mixed with something else but for the most part avoid them. If we do use them I will mix apples with plums and banana with pears/peaches. LO has a super sensitive tummy. (Milk protein allergy and reflux)
I would say cut the apples and bananas.
Pears are great for constipation, as well as plums and apricots.
I would also offer a good quality yogurt. I started giving my baby Kefir Lifeway. You can also buy plain Kefir or yogurt and mix it with her purees.
HTH.
We took some time off the bananas and apples at first as well.
Since we've picked them back up, we incorporate about .5 ounce of apple juice into the bottle following a banana/ apple puree.
