Are there any warning signs before your water breaks? I am due in 9 days and so paranoid it's going to happen in public.
Edited because I am an English teacher and that's what we do.

    NO. But I wouldn't worry about it to much, your water doesnt break on its own that often.

    Nope! It just breaks. For some women it's a little trickle that goes on for a while, for others (like me) it's a huge gush that you can't control. Don't worry though, only about 10% of pregnant women actually have their water break on its own.

    My water broke in a restaurant parking lot. needless to say i never got to go in and eat haha. it really wasnt that embarassing bc if/when it happens your just focused on getting what you need and heading to the hospital. besides, i knew looking as pregnant as i did that ppl would realize i was going into labor and having a baby is a precious/exhausting/wonderful gift.

    Mine broke at home, luckily.  I had a little bit of darker, thicker discharge in the couple hours before it broke but no other warnings.

    I was one of those women with uncontrollable gushing. I gushed for about 30 minutes over the toilet and in the shower before I gave up waiting and decided I had to wear clothes and would just be wet until I got to the hospital.
