small gush...tmi

Was just sitting on my couch in my jamies and felt a small gush, wasn't getting any BH or contractions this morning but I don't know if that means anything. Maybe i just peed a little without knowing? but I didn't have to go...will contractions start if it was my water? would it be a large gush? oh no how do i know? starting to freak out. My SO is in the bathroom right now so....

Sorry for the dumb question...and TMI

  • No not for everyone. For me last pregnancy I had a tiny gush then I trickled the rest out, but my cousin that same month had only a trickle the whole time.

35 weeks pregnant you need to call your OB! Possibly have steroids to mature your LO's lungs. GL

  • If you're still trickling liquid out, definately call the OB.  Probably a good idea to call anyway just to get their opinion.

  • The same thing happen to me this past week.  We went to the hospital and it turned out that it was not my water but a packet of vaginal secretion that just released.  I'm glad I went it because then I would have never known,  I would call the doctor.  Good Luck!

  • If you have liquid still trickling out then chances are your water broke. The amniotic fluid constantly replenishes itself so its my understanding you'll pretty much be continually leaking if its your water. So call your doc, but don't be embarassed if you did pee yourself. I've heard a lot of stories of women who went to the hospital thinking their water broke and it turned out they had only pee'd themselves.
