They're here.....!!!
Was sent home from work and my dr asked to see me, they were so bad and came out of the clear blue sky. Normally I don't think cankles in the third tri would be too much of a concern, but coupled with nausea & vomiting and a history of not only pre-e, but also HELLP syndrome, landed me in the dr's office. My BP is elevated for me, although normal in the grand scheme of things (it was 136/82 today, whereas I've been checking it daily and it's normally around 94/62), but my urine is clear and unless my BP hits a true "high" reading, I'm instructed to go about my usual activities.
Sad to say that it looks like today was my last day with my engagement ring & wedding band, but I'm happy to have made it to 4 wks pre-delivery date with them in place ;-)
Re: Cankles, anyone?
Mine have just appeared as well! It seems like my feet have just gotten CRAZY swollen in the last week or so. All I can do is elevate them in the evening and drink lots of water...
And I had to buy a faux wedding ring from Old Navy for like 3 dollars so people wouldn't be judgmental when I walk around with a giant pregnant belly and no ring. Sigh.
I just noticed my cankles last night!! My feet have been terribly achy for the past few weeks (feels like I'm walking on rocks)!
I'll be getting hour long foot massages during my maternity leave. Best $20 I ever spent.

I've had them for about 4 weeks now. and my wedding rings came off and went onto my necklace about 3 weeks ago. I can honestly say it was an adjustment not to be wearing my rings, but eventually I know I can put them back on.
I feel ya! I made it to week 36 without any swelling, then BAM Monday night my feet and ankles swelled up like balloons. When I told my doctor that they were swollen (at my appt the next day), he wasn't worried. He just exclaimed "Yes, look at those cankles!" Wow, thanks Dr! =P (Good thing I like him so much.)
I have been good about water intake, but I've bumped up the water, cut back on high sodium foods, been more careful about neither sitting nor standing for too long, and started putting my feet up more often. The swelling isn't gone, but it's better and it's not constant.
Luckily, I can still wear my rings, they're just a little tighter sometimes.
Yup, seems to be a very common end of pregnancy symptom. Mine hit last Friday and for the last week my feet and ankles have been super swollen. I managed to get them almost normal looking in the middle of the week and then they swelled again. Super unattractive. My toes look like little sausages.
Even my super stretchy slip on shoes I bought the other month because my regular work shoes were feeling tight are now feeling snug and uncomfortable. Not sure what I'm going to do for the next 4 weeks. I work in a professional environment so flip flops or slippers really aren't an option.
