Poor kid is congested- like bad. Snot running, crusted around his nose when he wakes up from a nap or in the morning. And I can hear that it's dripping down his throat too. He's pretty good about the bulb to suck the snot out, but the tolerance only lasts so long and we have to do it several times an hour. He's also got an ulcer in his gum on the bottom jaw, so we've been giving him pain meds for that.
Suggestions?
Re: How do/did you deal with a congested LO?
DD had a bad cold last weekend (still getting over it) and we had to put Vicks Baby on her chest before every sleep. It's the only way shse didn't wake up 5 minutes later all snotty.
Try elevating the mattress so his head is slightly higher than his body.
Hope he's feeling better soon! Sick babies are no fun.
In addition to PP - I was told by pedi nurses at the hospital to put Vicks on the feet then put on their socks/pj's - helped a ton.
I hope he feels better soon - this is no way to spend his first holiday! (or yours)
