I'm going to be a great aunt. again.

I wish this was easier.  Thankfully I had a feeling it was coming, so I wasn't blown away when I heard.  

Unfortunately my niece (technically H's niece) knows about our troubles and called MH today crying hysterically because she doesn't know how to tell me :(  

How awful that in her excited time she's worried about my feelings and having trouble being happy.  We haven't spoke face to face yet but she wanted us to know before announcing to the rest of the family. Cue the tears.

    Been there, done that.  Expect to be in your shoes again soon (Nephew and new wife both in mid 30's just got married this summer....I'm expecting an announcement over Christmas).  At least your niece thought about your feelings.  My sister told me I had no right to be upset when my niece got pregnant right way even though said niece was barely 18, very immature, and newly married to a jerk who cheated on her before they had been married 5 mos ( oh and she was already PG when that happened).  Same niece was PG enough to show at her second big fancy wedding to a man nearly as old as her mother and father.  But my family thinks she is just wonderful and is sympathetic to every bad thing that happens to her and I'm the weirdo who needs to "move on" and not be sad about my losses.

    I feel for you and I really hope your new great niece or nephew has  your baby to play with soon!
