Toddlers: 24 Months+

What is your 2-3 year old's favorite book?

Just looking for some last minute gift ideas, and thought others might appreciate a good list of books for toddlers!

Would like to get our little guy a couple new books, but not sure which ones to get.  Some more uncommon ideas would help - we have most of the basics.

Thanks!

  • Goodnight moon seems to be his favorite.

We also have a book of condensed version's of disney classics that he really seems to like.

  • DS is not quite 2, but he loves Fun Dog, Sun Dog.  LOVES it.  He also really likes No David and When Sheep Sleep (by the same author as If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, which he also likes too.)  Mostly he picks one of those at night or a train/plane/car book.  He loves Polar Express right now and requests that a lot but that's just because we just went on the Polar Express here and he loves trains.  He just keeps saying "My train.  Choo Choo" when we read it.
  • Pinkalicious and also the Little Pookie books

  • It's called Rainbow Kittens.  DD loves it.  She's memorized most of the book too which makes it easier for me to read it to her. :)

  • My 3yr old DD's favorite book right now is The House that Jack Built.  She's obsessed.
  • Forgot to add the favorites at our house -

Color Train, Bear Hunt, The Little Dump Truck, Little Quack, Llama Llama Red Pajama

  • DD is really into full stories for bed time now. She is currently making us read, every-single-night.... One of the tinkerbell books with 3 different stories in it.

  • DS really likes the "How do Dinosaur..."books (Jane Yokum & Mark Teague), Biscuit....lots of those, too (Alyssa Satin Capucilli),Suzy's Zoo books (Suzy Spafford) though with those I think it's because I do voices for the various characters, and any book with animals where they make their sounds....written..not heard. Pretty much he's also happy with any book that features a dog or cat right now.

  • In My Nest, In My Meadow, In My Tree, In My Flower, In My Pond, etc. by Sara Gillingham. She has almost all of them.  They have a little finger puppet and adorable art, so I'm always buying them when I see a new one available.

  • B loves books with a good rhythm, like Go, Dog. Go. and Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You. He also really loves the Elephant and Piggy books by Mo Willems.

His favorite book to read in the bathroom (yeah, we're starting him early, haha) is some Madeline book on manners that I found at our library sale. It's all about how to be polite. Awesome book if you can find it, and not overtly girly (apart from the picture being mainly of Madeline and her friends). It's also got a couple of French words/phrases, which are really cute said by a 2.5 year old. ;)
