Breastfeeding..Do I wake baby up to eat @ night?

Hello,

I am breastfeeding my 2 month son and he is starting to sleep longer stretches of the night should I wake him up to feed? I want to keep up my milk supply..what to do? What will happen he I do let him wake up on his on and wait?

  • Your supply will regulate itself. As long as he's been gaining weight there's no reason to wake him up to feed.

  • My pedi told us right from the start  not wake her at night to eat.  She wakes up when she's hungry and that's what matters.

  • I agree with previous posters.  At this age there is no reason to wake LO up as long as she is gaining weight approprietly.  If LO was hungry, he/she would let you know!  And your supply will  just adjust to meet her new needs of not needing to nurse during the night.
