Secondary IF

Who here has gone out of state for IVF?

My insurance will pay 50%.  If it allows me to go out-of-state, I think I'll try either Houston IVF (near relatives) or Portland's Oregon Reproductive Medicine.  The first has success rates 10% higher than my center, the second 20% higher--the highest in the nation.

Anyone else done this?

  • I went out of state but no that far.  I live in NY and did my IVF in CT.  However, I did all of my IF procedures there.  My attitude is if your insurance will pay why not try?!?!

  • HI! First off I wanna say I wish you the best. Second, I actually am in the portland area and we have been working with Dr. Brandon Bankowski from ORM for the last 5 years and have a beautiful 20 month old DD and are back at it trying for a sibling or two. We LOVE ORM, the staff is wonderful and the Dr's are so compassionate and just all around wonderful! I highly recommend them if you are able to use them!! If you would like to talk more about them and the area, feel free to PM me! I wish you the best of luck and lots of baby dust!!

  • I did, but not because of success rates.  I traveled 2k miles to get to the Navy hospital since they had a reduced cost and I'd been on that waiting list for years.

  • Thanks for the replies!  Don't know yet if this cycle worked, and I haven't harassed the new insurance because it doesn't kick in until Jan....
