when will I feel back to normal?

Just wondering when the leaky boobs and sore nipples end. DD is 5 weeks, and I'm still wearing nursing pads. I also still have a little bit of pins and needles with the let-down. Does this ever get better, or will this go on until I stop bf?

Between 6 and 8 weeks, things got a lot better for me. I wore nursing pads till about 5 months though because I was paranoid about leaking at work.

Are you using Lanolin? That's what worked for me and I think they got better around 4 weeks. I am still using breast pads and my LO is 3 months. I still leak but not as much but having the pads on makes you feel better just in case!

I still get the pins and needles feeling during letdown if I go more than four hrs between feedings. Or if I'm feeding on one side I feel it on the other. I also still wear pads. I only leak though if I'm engorged in the morning from sttn or from the opposite side lo is feeding one. So a lot of times now I'll just wear one pad and switch it to the side lo is not feeding from. It's easy for me to remember which side I need to feed from then too.

My lo is 4 months.

I had a major oversupply (50-80 oz a day) and never thought I'd stop leaking! It got a lot better around 12 weeks and then by 5 months I no longer had to wear pads.

As for the pins and needles/sticking your nipple in a socket letdown sensation, I think I stopped feeling that around 10 or 12 weeks.

Things get much, much easier at 12 weeks when your LO's demand begins to control your supply, rather than your hormones.
