Any idea what this could be? Also posted in 3rd Tri.

Hi ladies, 1st time poster, long time lurker, woke up this morning and my right nipple was hurting, I looked and there is a small semi-hard very dark "bump"? on the very center of the actual nipple itself. I'm 36 weeks on Saturday and I've been leaking colostrum since 20 weeks if that helps any. My next appointment is Tuesday so I will have my OB look at it then but in the meantime any ideas what this could be?? Thanks in advance.

    I haven't experienced this, but it may be a blocked duct? Hopefully some 2TM will chime in with some opinions!

    Blocked duct would kinda make sense, you might try a warm/hot facecloth to help loosen things up a bit. That worked for me when i was nursing.

    if its a blocked duct you should be able to massage/push it out after the warm moist compresses as well!  good luck!

    Update: I guess it was just dried blood, like a tiny hard ball of dried blood, gross I know! But it did come off with lanolin and a warm bath, and doesn't hurt anymore, so I will just mention it to my OB next week, thank you for your help ladies!
